About the Role: The Governing body are seeking a highly organised, efficient, and motivated Bursar to join our friendly and dedicated team at Frodsham Manor House Primary School. The Bursar will play a key role in the financial management and administration of the school, ensuring that our resources are used effectively to support the best possible education for our pupils. Key Responsibilities: Manage the school’s budget, financial planning and reporting. Process invoices, payroll and other financial transactions. Monitor expenditure and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Assist with procurement and contract management. Liaise with external agencies including auditors, suppliers and local authority. Maintain accurate financial records and reports. Support the Headteacher and Governors with strategic financial planning. Oversee school administration and support staff, where appropriate. Person Specification: Previous experience in a finance, accounting, or administrative role (school experience desirable but not essential). Strong numeracy and IT skills, especially with spreadsheets and financial software. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Discretion and confidentiality are essential. Qualifications: Relevant financial or business qualification (e.g., AAT, NVQ in Business Administration) desirable. Training will be provided for the right candidate from Cheshire West and Chester.
