Rate of pay starts from £13.35/hour and increases to £14.56/hour for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.
We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with options for 12 hours minimum.
Availability window – we will schedule your contracted hours within the times you are available, and you will receive three weeks' notice of shift times.
* Sun: 07:00 – 14:30
* Thu: 07:00 – 17:00
* Fri: 19:00 – 23:00
* Sat: 19:00 – 23:00
Customers are at the heart of everything we do. As the face of Tesco out on the road, you will deliver packages from Lands’ End to John O’Groats.
From meeting to talking to customers each day, this role is about helping others and delivering great service with a smile.
Responsibilities
* Ensure vans and trays are clean and tidy.
* Leave the back yard clean, tidy and litter‑free.
* Participate in the tray wash process.
* Load the van as required and check roadworthiness.
* Communicate changes in orders to customers, offering refunds for unhappy items.
* Treat products/deliveries as if they were your own.
* Explain that customers will not be charged extra for substitutions.
* Deliver during the customer’s time slot.
* Call the customer before arrival if early.
* Call the store if running 30+ minutes late.
Qualifications
* Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit.
* Be warm and welcoming, taking time to understand customers.
* Respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace change.
* Energetic and driven, balancing home and work.
* Share ideas with managers and colleagues to improve customer experience.
* Valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (Full or Automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
