Our client is seeking a Principal Engineer – Product Safety for a submarine programme, this position can be based from the client's sites in either Barrow-in-Furness, Filton or Frimley. It will need 2 days onsite every 2 weeks.
The Principal Safety Engineer will provide support to the 'Whole Boat' Engineering Delivery Manager in the development, delivery and maintenance of the Project Product Safety Management System and Product Safety Case to ensure Products are safe to own and legal to operate.
Key tasks:
1. Derive and manage Whole Boat Product Safety requirements.
2. Develop, implement and maintain the Safety Management System.
3. Produce and manage Project Safety Management Plans.
4. Lead Whole Boat Product Safety hazard and risk identification, management and assessment activities.
5. Provide Product Safety engineering advice to the wider BAE Systems community.
6. Oversee the administration and management of the Project Hazard Log.
7. Influence the construction and delivery of the Project Safety Case including Safety Case reports.
8. Support the production of training material to support training delivery.
9. Deliver training to the Product Safety and the wider community.
10. Lead engagement with internal and external customers, ensuring that their requirements are fully considered and adequately supported where appropriate and agreed.
