Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Band 8b Consultant Physiotherapist with vision, substantial clinical experience, and an excellent team focus, who can adapt to a unique organisation and is able to deliver the highest standards of professional practice.

This is a part time position, offering 17 working hours per week.

Please be advised that the Department is conducting a review of all pay related allowances which could impact on those allowances that the post currently being advertised attracts.


Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will strategically develop the non-surgical management of patients across Defence Rehabilitation and ensure local implementation of relevant national policy.

You will be expected to undertake a significant clinical caseload to a high professional standard using specialist knowledge from theoretical and practical experience and to support other practitioners on a service-wide consultancy basis for complex cases.

Job responsibilities

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

* Assessing highly complex cases using a range of assessment/diagnostic methods and reach valid, reliable and comprehensive patient and client-centred conclusions appropriate to needs, context and culture.
* Undertaking a detailed physical and psychosocial assessment of complex patients by using investigative and analytical skills and expert clinical reasoning in order to establish a diagnosis and implement an appropriate treatment plan.
* Producing individual treatment and intervention plans for patients with highly complex needs who require in-depth diagnosis.
* Providing training and expert clinical advice within the RRU ensuring that it operates to the highest possible standards of clinical practice.

A short (5 min) presentation will also be required at interview - How is advanced physiotherapy practice bestutilised to optimise recovery from MSKI in a highly active population?.

A single PowerPoint slide may be used but you will not be disadvantaged if you choosenot to present with a slide.

There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel, but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home.

The post does NOT offer relocation expenses (move of home, excess fares or temporary transfer). Non-Standard move applicants will be eligible for the full package, subject to eligibility.

Person Specification

Experience

* Clinical experience at minimum Band 7 level in relevant field of physiotherapy.
* Presentation skills at local and national level.


Registrations and Memberships

* Health and Care Professions Council Registered (HCPC).
* Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
* Registration as Advanced Practitioner with active professional portfolio.

Qualifications

* Degree or Graduate diploma (or equivalent) in Physiotherapy
* Master of Science MSC in related clinical area.
