Job Title: Communications Advisor Location: Portsmouth (HM Naval Base) Service Area: Marketing & Communications, Business Support Hours of Work: 37 Per week What You’ll be doing: As Communications Advisor at KBS Maritime, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering impactful, strategic communications that engage, inform, and inspire. Working closely with the Head of Communications, you’ll play a key role in shaping both internal and external messaging across the organisation. This is a hands-on opportunity for a proactive communicator who thrives on variety and wants to make a meaningful contribution across multiple channels and audiences. You’ll help implement our Internal Communications Strategy, driving employee engagement through clear, consistent messaging. You’ll support the creation and distribution of corporate updates from business wins and policy changes to strategic announcements, and produce high-quality marketing materials including brochures, videos, and animations. You’ll also be responsible for drafting compelling content such as news stories, press releases, white papers, and interviews that align with our brand and business goals. Your role will also involve coordinating and delivering employee engagement activities, customer events, trade shows, and exhibitions. You’ll manage and maintain our intranet and website platforms, ensuring brand consistency and publishing content via SharePoint and WordPress. As a brand ambassador, you’ll champion our visual identity and tone of voice across all functions, helping to ensure KBS Maritime’s communications are as strong and distinctive as the services we deliver. You’ll Have: To thrive in this role, you’ll ideally bring some experience, whether through internships or entry-level positions in marketing, communications, or a related field. You’ll be confident publishing content via platforms like SharePoint and WordPress and have hands-on familiarity with analytics tools and SEO strategies to boost reach and engagement. Furthermore, a working knowledge of design software such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Canva, or Adobe Express will be a strong asset. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with a creative mindset and a willingness to contribute fresh ideas.
