The Opportunity
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the safe, compliant, efficient and profitable operation of Leep Utilities assets via the management of site contractors. The role will be required to set up, monitor and review contracts ensuring that guaranteed standards of service and key performance indicators align with business needs and are reported up to Director level.
Key Responsibilities
* To fully understand the regulatory obligations, service provider contracts and implement the associated deliverables of them across the portfolio that under the remit of this position.
* Provide support to the Operations Manager UK on all site operational and maintenance activities.
* Manage all day-to-day aspects of live operational High and Low Voltage Electrical Networks.
* Financial and purchase order management and monitoring of all planned and ad-hoc works undertaken on Leep Utilities behalf.
* Timely review of incoming invoices and challenging where relevant.
* Timely raising and monitoring of all required purchase orders, identifying variances when they occur.
* Agreeing and managing budgets associated with service delivery and maintenance works.
* Review and tendering of operational contracts as and when required.
* Ensuring that business processes covering contractor activities and assessment are in place and complied with.
* Ensuring activities and assets are compliant with all relevant legislation.
* Working with the project delivery and connection teams to ensure that new assets are handed over with all relevant records, agreements and contracts in place and to an adoptable standard.
* Ensure that site inspections and contractor checks are in place and sufficient for business purposes.
* Ensure all subcontracted services are delivered to the highest standards of health, safety quality and environmental standards.
About You
* Experience within the Operations and Maintenance of Electrical Networks
* Good Knowledge of the utility industry
* Proven track record of the management of utility contractors
* Comprehensive working knowledge of High / Low voltage electricity network operation, maintenance and management
* Working familiarity with H&S management and audit
* Understanding of regulatory standards applicable to the business and the processes required to be compliant with them
* Good computer and reporting skills
* Adaptability and an eagerness to learn
* Effective and proactive people skills with the ability to build professional business relationships
