Job Title: Specialist Speech and Language Therapist - Supporting Neurodiverse Learners About the Role: A dedicated and forward-thinking educational provider is looking for a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to work with autistic learners, helping them develop their communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation skills. Key Responsibilities: Provide specialist speech and language support tailored to neurodiverse students. Apply evidence-based interventions, with a focus on the SCERTS Framework (Social Communication, Emotional Regulation, and Transactional Support). Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to create effective support plans. Utilise AAC tools (PECS, Makaton, speech-generating devices) to enhance communication. Contribute to EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan) development and review processes. Offer guidance on sensory processing needs and their impact on communication. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Speech and Language Therapist (Degree in SLT or equivalent, with relevant licensure/HCPC registration). Experience working with autistic children in educational or therapeutic settings. Strong understanding of communication support strategies for neurodiverse learners.
