Key Responsibilities:
As an SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in ensuring the pupils well:being and academic progress. Your responsibilities will include:

Delivering bespoke support to pupils with complex needs, following individualised learning plans and targets.
*
Using alternative communication methods such as Makaton, PECS, or visual timetables to help pupils express themselves.
*
Providing calm, consistent support to help pupils manage sensory needs and regulate their emotions.
*
Assisting with personal care duties as required, always ensuring the dignity, safety, and well:being of the pupils.
*
Working closely with the class teacher and a multi:disciplinary team, including therapists, to provide holistic support.
Requirements:
To succeed in this unique and rewarding role, you must have:

Demonstrable experience working with children with complex or profound Special Educational Needs in a specialist school or care setting.
*
A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is highly desirable, but extensive, relevant experience is paramount.
*
An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or be willing for a new one).
*
The legal right to work in the UK without any restrictions.
*
Specific training in areas such as Team Teach, Makaton, or PECS is highly advantageous.
*
