Salary: £47,181 - £50,269 per annum (G10)
About the role
Senior Specialist Social Worker for the Youth in Sight team, a multidisciplinary team working with adolescents aged 10–18 years who present with complex mental health or emotional dysregulation, including those with repeat hospital admissions or who require therapeutic care. The role supports adolescents and their families to remain safely within their family home, through early intervention and comprehensive services.
Responsibilities
* Lead and contribute to statutory assessments, planning and reviews, promoting participation, consultation and co‑production with young people and families.
* Collaborate with the wider partnership to secure support and form a holistic view of the family's circumstances.
* Advocate on behalf of the young person and their family and deliver therapeutic interventions to strengthen resilience.
* Participate in group supervisions every four weeks to reflect on practice and identify areas of concern.
* Support junior social workers (ASYE) through reflective conversations, guidance and co‑working.
* Use the Valuing Care Tool and shared database to ensure information is accessible and shared promptly.
* Engage in the family safeguarding model, Think Family approach and relational practice within the team.
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum 2 years post‑qualifying experience working with children and families with varied needs and vulnerabilities.
* Registered with Social Work England.
* Strong communication skills, able to work with children, young people and families in an open, honest and transparent way.
* Demonstrated commitment to practice development and CPD, with access to specialist training commissioned by the Practice Development Hub.
