Step Teachers are recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant in Salford.
This is an opportunity to work as an SEN Teaching Assistant at an outstanding special needs school in Salford. The school values its staff and maintains a family feel.
Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with Autism and Learning Difficulties.
* Adapt approaches to meet learning, social & emotional, physical, sensory and communication needs for each pupil.
* Use positive reinforcement and behaviour management techniques.
* Contribute to a safe, fun and inclusive classroom environment.
* Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, SLT, parents and outside professionals.
* Report behaviours, incidents and disclosures to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
Qualifications / What We Need from You
* Up to date CV with 10-year work history.
* Proof of Right to Work and Address in the UK.
* DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
* At least 2 professional references covering the last 2 years.
* Overseas Police Check if applicable.
* Previous experience supporting children with SEN.
* Proactive, empathetic, reliable and hard-working approach.
Working Details
* Starting September 2025.
* Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm.
* Expected to go permanent eventually for the right person.
* Salary: £90-110/day DOE, paid PAYE (no umbrella companies).
* Equal pay to permanent staff from the 13th week onwards of a placement.
