Hands-on experience with electric or hybrid vehicles would be an advantage, but full support and additional training will be provided for the right candidates. Knowledge of buses, coaches, or HGVs would also be beneficial. About the Role You’ll attend breakdowns and service calls across the UK, diagnosing and repairing electric vehicles on-site. You’ll also spend time in the workshop supporting vehicle builds, maintenance, and repairs when not out on call. The work is varied, hands-on, and offers excellent progression into the EV space — ideal for technicians wanting to future-proof their careers. Key Responsibilities Attend breakdowns and service calls to diagnose and repair electric vehicles Perform mechanical, electrical, and software diagnostics Support repairs and maintenance activities across a range of vehicles and equipment Interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications Work closely with engineers and customers to resolve issues Travel to customer sites across the UK (with occasional international travel if needed) Maintain a safe and organised working environment at all times What We’re Looking For Essential: Previous experience as a vehicle technician, roadside patrol, or workshop mechanic Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills (mechanical and/or electrical) Confident working independently and managing your own workload Good communication skills for working with customers on-site Valid UK driving licence Willingness to travel nationwide with overnight stays if required Physically fit for manual handling tasks Desirable: Hands-on experience working on electric or hybrid vehicles NVQ Level 3, BTEC, HNC, or similar in Automotive Engineering or equivalent IMI TechSafe EV Certification or Level 3 EV/Hybrid Accreditation Experience working on buses, coaches, or HGVs F-Gas qualification (desirable for air-con systems) First Aid qualification Why Apply?
