Job Title: Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical / Electrical / Multi‑Skilled) - Location: Hampshire - Shift: Days or Nights available
Role Purpose
To provide mechanical and/or electrical maintenance support to production and ancillary equipment to ensure maximum operational efficiency and uptime. All work must comply with company Health & Safety policies and relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and repair faults on production and ancillary equipment
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
* Respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime
* Complete tooling changes and machine adjustments (with support where required)
* Rebuild spare assemblies and manage critical spare parts
* Maintain accurate maintenance documentation using PC‑based systems
* Assist with installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment
* Investigate and resolve processing problems with engineering and production teams
* Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work
* Maintain clean and safe working areas
* Attend training as required
Experience
* Industrial maintenance experience within manufacturing, FMCG, or similar environments
* Candidates from service engineering, heavy industry, Armed Forces (Army, Navy, RAF) or other industrial sectors will be considered where relevant industrial experience is demonstrated
* Experience working with high‑speed production machinery (desirable)
* Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills
* Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and LOTO procedures
Technical Knowledge (Desirable)
* PLC control systems and automation
* 4‑axis and 6‑axis robotics
* Thermocouples and control systems
Qualifications
* Time‑served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)
* ONC / HNC / BTEC Level 3 in Engineering (desirable)
* NVQ Level 2/3 in Engineering (or equivalent)
