Premier Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading company in Cambridge that specialises in electro-mechanical products. This role involves designing and developing precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components, working closely with engineering, R&D, and manufacturing teams to bring innovative products to market.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
* A degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
* Experience in mechanical and electro-mechanical design
* Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
* Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and product assembly
* Understanding of electro-mechanical integration and product lifecycle development
* Ability to produce detailed technical drawings, GD&T, and BOMs
* Strong problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset
* Experience working within a manufacturing or R&D environment
* Good communication and collaboration skills
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
* Designing and developing electro-mechanical products and precision components
* Producing 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical documentation
* Collaborating with electronics, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration
