You will act as the central point for campus security, coordinating incidents, supporting the Security Team, and ensuring the safety of students, staff, visitors, and property. BenefitsCycle-to-work scheme, pension, life assuranceReferral bonus, training & developmentReWard perks: gym discounts, retailer & travel savings, restaurant and supermarket vouchers, cinema tickets24/7 Employee Assistance Programme Role ResponsibilitiesDeliver and supervise in-house security services across campusCoordinate Security staff and ensure adequate resource coverGather and share intelligence affecting University safetySupport preparation for Martyn’s Law (launch Spring 2027)Oversee physical and electronic patrols to deter crime and anti-social behaviourDeploy resources effectively and maintain task/event schedulesRespond quickly to alarms, incidents, and safety concernsOperate all control room systems (CCTV, radios, access control, databases)Lead incident management from minor issues to critical situationsProduce accurate incident reports and identify or escalate risksLiaise with Police and external agencies when requiredEnsure 24/7 contact and response coverage across all areasMonitor contractors and ensure complianceAdjust working hours when necessary and complete required trainingFollow all legislation, policies, and instructions from Security ManagementCarry out additional duties as required by the department RequirementsValid SIA Frontline & CCTV Licence (essential)At least 1 year experience as a Security Officer or CCTV OperatorExcellent communication, customer service, and team motivation skillsStrong personal presentation and professional attitudeIT literate; able to operate security/emergency systemsExperience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPointQuick thinker with good problem-solving abilityProactive, reliable, and confident dealing with people5-year checkable work history Who We Are:Ward Security provides security services solutions to a range of UK businesses.
