We are currently seeking an experienced Airfreight Import Operator to join our busy Air & Ocean department. The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative team, handling bookings from both agents and customers. This role involves managing the full air import process, including arranging and completing customs clearances, calculating duty/VAT, and ensuring all associated operational procedures are accurately followed. Receiving bookings from customers / agents. Raising files within Rhenus software system. Preparation of clearance instructions. Speaking to Carriers, customers and hauliers. Checking flight arrival dates. Maintaining customer spreadsheets where required. Ensuring correct documentation is presented / obtained. Raising invoices to customers / agents. Raising duty / vat invoices. File queries. Key Competencies: Excellent attention to detail Excellent communication skills Good team player Ability to work to strict deadlines Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative Good organisational skills Flexible and adaptable Skills and Experience : Experience in Air freight Industry – two years minimum. Must be able to complete / understand intricacies of Airfreight. MAWBs, HAWBs, etc. Experience of DG by Air preferred, but not essential. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Package – Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc Qualifications: GSCE in English and Maths (Grade C and above)
