Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Cambridge, United Kingdom.
Type: Permanent.
Salary: GBP 35,000 – 45,000, dependent on experience.
Qualifications
* HNC/HND/BTEC/NVQ/Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or similar.
* At least 2 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
* Proficient with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar).
* Experience managing projects to meet deadlines and budgets.
* Experience working to customer specifications and modifying designs accordingly.
* Ability to maintain technical documentation and BOM entry.
* Knowledge of materials and sheet‑metal fabrication.
* Innovative, accurate, and passionate about design.
* Troubleshooting mindset with strong problem‑solving skills.
* Leadership and organisational capabilities.
* Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
* Design and develop various automation solutions.
* Use 3D CAD software for day‑to‑day design work.
* Develop ideas from concept to production.
* Collaborate with clients to meet design specifications.
* Coordinate with different departments to ensure smooth delivery of projects.
* Maintain technical drawings and documentation.
* Provide technical guidance and support.
* Support product testing, verification, and validation.
