The Opportunity
This is a strategically important field sales role focused on developing revenue, strengthening customer partnerships, and expanding market presence across the North West region.
You will inherit warm accounts, active opportunities, and strong internal support while also being expected to identify and win new business through proactive territory development.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and grow an existing portfolio of industrial and engineering customers
* Build strong relationships with production managers, engineers, buyers, directors, and technical stakeholders
* Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and market mapping
* Conduct customer visits to understand operational challenges and propose tailored technical solutions
* Prepare quotations, proposals, pricing strategies, and commercial offers
* Negotiate contracts and close profitable sales opportunities
* Maintain a healthy sales pipeline with accurate forecasting and CRM discipline
* Deliver territory growth plans aligned to company objectives
* Work cross-functionally with internal technical and customer support teams
* Increase customer retention, wallet share, and account penetration
* Track competitor activity, market developments, and sector trends
* Represent the business at trade shows, meetings, and industry events
* Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets and KPIs
Candidate Profile

Essential Requirements
* Engineering degree or previous engineering / technical background
* Experience within field sales, technical sales, business development, or account management
* Proven ability to win new business and grow existing accounts
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Commercial awareness with confidence negotiating at all levels
* Highly motivated, organised, and self-managing
* Experience using CRM systems and managing pipelines
* Full UK driving licence
* Able to travel across North West England
Preferred Experience
* Industrial engineering, automation, machinery, manufacturing, mechanical, OEM, or technical product sales exposure
* Consultative sales methodology
* Solution selling and value-based commercial discussions
* Track record of exceeding sales objectives
