Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will develop, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality products are produced efficiently and cost-effectively. The position offers the opportunity to work across multiple departments, including Operations, Quality, and Customer teams, while contributing to new product development, process improvement, and cost‑saving initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
 * Design and implement efficient manufacturing processes for new and existing components. Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance quality, reduce costs, and optimize lead times.
 * Apply GD&T, RCCA, and 8D methodologies to resolve production issues, improve process flow, and ensure product quality.
 * Provide technical input for job quotations, including manufacturing capabilities, costs, and methods.
 * Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining quality and cost standards. Present updates to the management team as needed.
 * Recommend enhancements to manufacturing equipment and processes, including ROI analysis and collaboration with finance when required.
 * Work closely with engineering, quality, and operations teams to provide technical input for internal reviews and customer engagements.
 * Define tooling requirements during product introduction and assist with work holding design for various processes.
 * Maintain product structures in ERP systems (BOMs, routings) and liaise with sub‑contractors on procurement specifications.
Key Qualifications
 * Degree, HNC, or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline.
 * Minimum of five years’ experience in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
 * Strong problem‑solving skills and a track record of driving continuous improvement.
 * CNC programming experience (Turning, Boring, Milling, ideally 5‑axis Mill/Turn).
 * Knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly with aluminium, titanium, and Inconel (Milling, Turning, Boring, EDM, Wire cutting).
 * Proficiency with Edge Cam, but will consider other CAD/CAM software.
 * Familiar with Siemens controls for Turning and Milling, and Heidenhain on various machines.
 * Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Experience
 * Experience across both CNC Turning/Vertical Turning and CNC Milling.
 * Familiarity with SQDCP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People) methodologies.
 * Proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement and driving change.
