Technical Support Engineer - Power Plant
We are currently looking for a Technical Support Engineer - Power Plant to join our team working for a better future. You will be a member of our Agreement Management Europe team for Energy Business customers.
The position is permanent, with the preferred location in Ireland, and involves regular travel within the UK.
What will you be doing
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting customers under LTSA to achieve the highest engine availability and reliability. You will provide expert advice and guidance on technical and operational issues, supporting site attendances for timely and proactive resolution of operational issues, with a focus on customer satisfaction. You will report to the Agreement Manager and work closely with Technical Service L1 and L2 teams.
Responsibilities include:
* Technical follow-up of installations under LTSA
* Supporting customers with troubleshooting
* Providing expert advice on technical and operational issues
* Monitoring TechRequests for agreement installations
* Collaborating with Remote Support and Technical Service teams
* Supporting agreement managers on technical topics
* Planning FS resources for unplanned jobs
Qualifications and Skills
* Good knowledge of agreement workflows
* Understanding of TR tools, portals, Wedge applications, cybersecurity, fuel, lube oil, water management, maintenance, operation management, control room, electrical systems, engine control systems, engine knowledge, performance and trend analysis, scheduled maintenance, technical drawings, and flow charts
* Strong technical and in-depth knowledge of Wärtsilä engines and auxiliary systems with over 5 years of experience in operations or technical support roles
* Cost awareness and effectiveness
* Customer understanding and technical communication skills
This role requires travel to customer sites across Italy and Europe, approximately 50% of the time.
