The Role As Private Client Solicitor, you'll manage your own caseload covering the full spectrum of Private Client matters, with responsibility for maximising departmental profitability whilst maintaining the firm's high standards of client care. Your Key Responsibilities Will Include: Estate Administration & Probate Managing probate and estate administration matters from instruction through to completion Liaising with executors, beneficiaries, and financial institutions throughout the process Wills & Lasting Powers of Attorney Drafting wills of all types from initial instruction to signature Preparing and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney Tax Planning & Trusts Advising clients on inheritance tax planning strategies Implementing appropriate arrangements including lifetime trusts and gifting structures Preparing deeds of variation where required Client Care & Business Development Maintaining exceptional client care standards, ensuring all parties are kept informed and supported Building and maintaining strong client relationships to support the firm's growth Working collaboratively with colleagues to manage caseloads effectively and meet deadlines Essential Requirements Qualifications & Experience: Qualified Solicitor or CILEX professional with 3 years PQE in Private Client work Proven experience managing Private Client matters independently from inception to completion Strong background in probate, wills, LPAs, inheritance tax planning, and trusts Skills & Attributes: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly Exceptional organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail Ability to manage a varied and busy caseload independently whilst maintaining quality standards Strong IT skills, including proficiency in legal case management software Client-focused approach with commitment to delivering outstanding service Comprehensive Benefits Package Remuneration: Competitive salary starting at £55,000 (negotiable based on experience – the partners are flexible for the right candidate) 35-hour working week (Monday–Friday, 9:15am–5:30pm with 1 hour 15 minutes for lunch) Work-Life Balance: Hybrid working: 3 days office-based, 2 days working from home 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Designated car parking space for fee earners Financial Security: Life assurance (4x basic salary) upon completion of probation Group Income Protection upon completion of probation Private healthcare after 3 years' service Pension scheme: 3% employer contribution, 5% employee contribution Professional Development: Ongoing training and development opportunities Supportive, collaborative working environment Clear career progression pathways Location & Working Arrangements Office Location: Watford Junction (excellent transport links) Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days in office, 2 days from home Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday How to Apply This is an excellent opportunity to join a firm that genuinely values its people and offers both professional challenge and personal flexibility.
