Head of Design Technology - Fully Qualified

Job Duties:
1. Lead and manage the Design Technology department
2. Develop and implement the curriculum for design and technology subjects
3. Provide guidance and support to teaching staff in delivering high-quality lessons
4. Monitor and assess student progress and provide feedback for improvement
5. Stay updated on educational trends and advancements in design technology
6. Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning opportunities
7. Oversee the department budget and resource allocation
8. Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development activities
Required Qualifications:
9. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
10. Degree in Design Technology or relevant field
11. Proven experience in teaching design and technology subjects
12. Demonstrated leadership skills in an educational setting
Education:
Degree in Design Technology or related field
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in design and technology
Knowledge and Skills:
13. Strong understanding of the national curriculum for design and technology
14. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
15. Ability to lead and motivate a team of educators
16. Proficient in IT tools and software relevant to design technology
17. Organisational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
18. Postgraduate qualification in Education Leadership
19. Experience in curriculum development and assessment
Working Conditions:
The role involves working in a school environment, collaborating with students, teachers, and parents. Regular working hours with occasional evening or weekend commitments for school events and meetings.
