Hours Part Time – Flexible hours to support our Foster Carers
Overview
The Children's Family Trust (The CFT) is a well‑established Ofsted Outstanding Registered Charity and Independent Fostering Agency. We firmly believe our Foster Carers are our most valuable resource and provide the highest levels of support and remuneration. We work in partnership with Local Authority Social Workers to keep our children safe and secure in stable, loving families.
We are recruiting Foster Carer Support Buddies to work with our Foster Carers and their families. This is a great opportunity for students in social work or health‑related fields, or for those with availability in the evenings, weekends or daytime, to undertake the role duties. The role is offered on a self‑employed or zero hours contract.
Responsibilities
* Supporting children with additional needs within their home
* Assisting with meal times and personal care
* Supporting children to access activities
* Accompanying them with their foster carer on days out
* May be asked to sit with children in hospital during the day while carers attend meetings/appointments
* Supporting children at the CFT office while carers attend training

* Comfortable around family pets (e.g. dogs)
* Happy in a busy family environment
* Ability to adapt to different situations
Requirements for Success
* Willingness to learn about caring for children with additional needs
* Willingness to learn about fostering and children who are looked after
* Willingness to learn how to use medical equipment such as walking frames and standing frames
* Full driving licence with business cover and comprehensive insurance; confidence in transporting children and young people in sometimes stressful situations
You will be required to have an enhanced DBS, which The Children's Family Trust will cover the payment of.
