We are looking for a passionate, dedicated and enthusiastic barista to join our close knit team. We are a small cafe open as of June 2024, locating in a local vintage style market, we welcome a range of customers looking for both good quality coffee and retro memorabilia.
We are looking for a trustworthy barista who can work alongside a small team. Duties include:
* Engage with customers in a friendly manner and a smile, taking orders accurately and operating a POS system
* Not afraid to do washing up Ensuring a clean and presentable dining area for customers
* Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages to a high standard
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workspace, adhering to food safety standards.
* Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of sales.
* Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations throughout the shift.
* Someone who will take initiative during quieter times to keep the space clean and re stocked
If comfortable to do so you will also be trained in food preparation in the kitchen, food safety level 1 certificate preferred but not essential, this can be done later on.
Experience
* Previous experience in a café or similar environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided. .
* Understanding of food safety practices is advantageous to maintain hygiene standards.
* Strong time management skills are essential to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* A willingness to help colleagues and contribute positively to the team dynamic is highly valued.
* Initiative to manage time efficiently and complete background tasks when quiet, eg cleaning, restock
