Do you have experience of using GIS and a passion for the natural environment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join our Woodland Creation team within Greenwood Community Forest.
Please double check you have the right level of experience and qualifications by reading the full overview of this opportunity below.
As part of the Trees for Climate programme, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of Nottinghamshire's landscapes by supporting the design, delivery and evaluation of woodland creation projects.
We are looking for someone who can bring both technical expertise and environmental insight to the role. You'll be responsible for mapping existing woodlands, identifying strategic planting opportunities, and producing high-quality plans for consultation and regulatory approval. You'll also help evaluate the impact of our programmes through spatial analysis, and work closely with colleagues to share knowledge and build GIS capacity across the team.
This role offers the chance to work collaboratively with local authorities, NGOs and other public sector organisations, and to support a growing team through training and mentoring. If you're confident using GIS software, have experience managing spatial data, and are ready to contribute to landscape-scale environmental change, we'd love to hear from you.
The post is offered for 18 months initially, with the potential for extension subject to further funding for the woodland creation programme.
