Vacancies for Paediatric band 6 sister - Emergency Department
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 paediatric junior sister position 37.5 hours per week.
Successful applicants will join an established paediatric nursing team, working within a designated children’s area in the Emergency Department. This is a fully rotational post and will be a shift pattern of days, nights, weekends and public holidays to ensure that there is 24 hour paediatric nursing cover at all times within the Emergency Department.

Reports to: ED Department co-ordinator
Accountable to: Matron/Head nurse
Job Purpose
Accountable within the team for ensuring that the standard of nursing care is of a high level, quality being of prime importance. Ensure adherence to agreed Trust policies. Primarily to provide emergency nursing to children and their families attending A&E and to support provision of care to all client groups. Provide support to the junior nursing team providing clinical/safeguarding supervision.
Infection prevention and control
The post holder must comply with all relevant policies, procedures and training on infection prevention and control.

* A1.1 Ensure all policies/protocols/standards are upheld.
* A1.2 Maintain Health and Safety for all staff, patients, visitors and members of the multidisciplinary team following the Trust’s policy.
* A1.3 Adhere to the Control of Infection policy.
* A1.4 Maintain knowledge of all department emergency procedures, equipment and major incident plan.
* A1.5 Participate in the deployment of a mobile team in the pre hospital care setting.
* A1.6 Attend yearly updates for all statutory training.
* A1.7 Maintain a healthy, safe and productive work environment.
* A2.1 Report and document accidents, incidents and losses.
