Based in London, Blue Finch is a growing UK Film Distribution Company and International Sales Agent specializing in bold, festival driven independent films. Our UK distribution releases over the years include Tribeca selected Wild Men, Harmony Korine’s The Beach Bum, BIFA nominated It Is In Us All and Jim Cummings’ The Beta Test. International sales titles include SXSW Narrative Competition winner Raging Grace, Blumhouse produced Soft & Quiet, and Berlinale Teddy Award winner Lesbian Space Princess.
JOB ROLE
This is an opportunity to join an exciting Sales and Distribution outfit, supporting the company as it grows, whilst expanding your knowledge in international film business. Someone who is passionate about cinema, with an interest in the business side of the film industry would be an ideal candidate. Furthermore, The role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should also be a motivated self-starter who is comfortable working autonomously.
This is a remote position, with advance scheduled face to face meetings in London. The individual will report to the Director of Business Affairs & Business Development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
We expect these key responsibilities to grow as the person spends further time in the role
· Maintaining the rights management system for the UK and International
· Creating avails lists for UK platforms and for the sales team pre-market
· Chasing and logging incoming reports from distributors and sub-licensors
· Reviewing distributors’ marketing materials and submitting them to producers for approval
· Drafting deal memos with the support of the Director of Business Affairs & Business Development
· Reviewing legal deliveries from filmmakers with the support of the Director of Business Affairs & Business Development
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
· At least one year of experience working specifically within Business Affairs, or a Legal or Operations role in any industry (film industry preferred)
· Excellent project and time management skills
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Demonstrable ability to work independently and work cross functionally
· A passion for film and the entertainment industry
ADDITIONAL (DESIRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL)
· Undergraduate degree in Law, Finance or Operational Management
