About the role:
Horizon Teachers are seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils 1:1 and in small groups across KS2 and KS3. Your role will involve helping children with ASC and complex needs thrive both in the classroom and beyond. Key responsibilities:
1. Provide general classroom support across KS2 and KS3, assisting with pupil engagement to enhance learning outcomes.
2. Deliver focused 1:1 and small group support for targeted interventions.
3. Assist the class teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons.
4. Support pupils with SEND and additional needs.
5. Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
What do you need to succeed in this role?
1. Previous experience in a school or SEN setting (essential).
2. A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
3. Understanding of SEND conditions and their impact on learning and behaviour.
4. Confidence in supporting pupils with communication difficulties and/or physical needs.
5. Collaborative and empathetic approach, with excellent communication skills.
