Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Pay Rate: £90-£120 Per Day
Location: Oldbury
Start Date: As soon as possible
Hours: 8.30-15.30
Duration : Remainder of the Academic Year
Smart Education are working with a Secondary Academy located in the midlands, on the outskirts of Birmingham in Oldbury. This school are looking to appoint a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join them as soon as possible for a role supporting SEND pupils on a 1:1 basis that will run through to the end of the academic year 2025/2026 initially.
The role will see the successful SEN TA taking on a 1:1 support role working with pupils who have received a statement. Pupils behaviour is generally good and there is a hugely supportive staff team that work to provide the best possible environment and experience for these pupils.
The successful applicant will ideally be an experienced SEN TA with Key Stage 3/4 experience who is passionate about supporting and working with pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds, who are looking to overcome their challenges. This SEN Teaching Assistant role will see you taking on the role for the remainder of the academic year and potentially next academic year and beyond.

Job Requirements for this 1:1 SEN TA role:
- Must have experience of supporting SEN pupils
- Must hold a Valid DBS on the Update service (Or be wiling to get one)
- Must have a minimum of 6 months UK 1:1 SEN Experience
- Patience, empathy and a commitment to serving the pupils you support to the best of your ability.
- Clear understanding and commitment to safeguarding
- String communication and teamwork to work with Teachers and other stakeholders
