Our Client
The position is for a major project focused on Decommissioning and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) within the Oil & Gas or Energy industry. The specific project is the Liverpool Bay initiative.
Scope
The Buyer will serve as the on-site focal point for all procurement activities for the project. This encompasses the purchasing of both direct and indirect goods and services. The role is a full-time contractor position, reporting daily to the Site Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Autonomous PR Management: Independently manage and process Purchase Requisitions (PRs) received from the section lead for all required goods and services.
* PR Review: Verify PR completeness, consistency with the project budget, and alignment with technical requirements.
* Tender Strategy: Develop and prepare tender strategies, including documentation detailing the procurement process, relevant timelines, and vendor qualification information.
* Stakeholder Liaison: Maintain daily communication with bidders, inspectors, vendors, and the Kingston office to ensure mutual understanding of project needs and requests.
* Vendor Support & Confidentiality: Assist vendors in the preparation of their technical and commercial proposals while strictly adhering to confidentiality obligations.
* Proposal Analysis: Compare proposals submitted by different vendors and recommend actions to optimize project results.
Qualifications
* Experience: Proven experience as a Buyer or in an equivalent role, specifically in purchasing both goods and services within the Oil & Gas or Energy industry.
* Technical Skills: Expertise in developing purchasing strategies for goods and services.
* IT Skills: Proficiency in SAP and MS365 (Microsoft 365).
* Residence/Work Status: Must reside in the UK and possess full, permanent UK right-to-work status.
