 
        
        Quality Engineer
I’m looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a highly regarded engineering business working on complex electro‑mechanical systems for the defence sector. This is a hands‑on role that combines technical quality assurance, auditing, and continuous improvement—ideal for someone who enjoys variety and has a real eye for detail.
Responsibilities
 * Verifying configuration status of hardware and reviewing supporting documentation
 * Preparing and maintaining project quality documentation throughout the full lifecycle
 * Supporting and running First Article and Factory Acceptance Testing activities
 * Conducting internal and external audits for process, procedure, and contract compliance
 * Managing the internal audit schedule and tracking corrective actions
 * Leading and supporting investigations, root cause analysis, and lessons learned reviews
 * Supporting continuous improvement and supplier quality activities
Qualifications
 * Background in defence or other high‑integrity engineering environments
 * Strong understanding of electro‑mechanical hardware and configuration control
 * Experience carrying out quality audits (in‑house and at suppliers)
 * Internal Auditor qualification and 8D problem‑solving experience
 * Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
 * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
 * Able to work independently and under pressure
 * Quality‑related qualifications such as C&G 743, IQA A3, Lead Assessor, or equivalent would be an advantage
