An amazing specialist primary and secondary school in Loughborough is looking for a passionate, dedicated, and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time, long-term position where you’ll play a vital role in supporting pupils with special educational needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
About the Role:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you’ll be working closely with students, teachers, and other staff to provide both 1:1 and group support. You’ll help deliver tailored interventions, adapt learning materials, and ensure every child has the best opportunity to succeed.
Responsibilities:
1. Supporting students with a range of SEND (including autism, ADHD, and SEMH) across both primary and secondary settings
2. Assisting the class teacher with planning and delivering differentiated lessons
3. Providing one-to-one and small group support inside and outside of the classroom
4. Helping students develop socially, emotionally, and academically
5. Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records
6. Working collaboratively with the wider school team, parents, and external professionals
Requirements:
7. Experience working with children with special educational needs (in a school or care-based setting)
8. A genuine passion for supporting learners with additional needs
9. Strong communication skills and a positive, patient attitude
10. Ability to build strong, nurturing relationships with pupils
11. A DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
