We are seeking an experienced Commercial Kitchen Designer to assist in the layout and technical planning of a professional kitchen space. We have the interior architectural drawings and a finalized equipment list; we now need a specialist to integrate these into a cohesive, code-compliant functional layout.
Scope of Work:
Equipment Layout: Populate existing CAD drawings with specified equipment, ensuring optimal workflow, ergonomics, and safety.
Hood System Design: Design a comprehensive kitchen ventilation/exhaust hood system. This includes calculating required CFMs, ductwork routing, and ensuring compliance with fire safety standards.
Utility Planning: Identify and mark basic point-of-connection requirements for plumbing and electrical based on the equipment list.
Code Compliance: Ensure all designs meet US standards (NFPA 96, NSF, and local health department typical requirements).
Requirements:
Proven experience in commercial kitchen design (restaurants, cafes, or ghost kitchens).
Expertise in AutoCAD (or Revit).
Deep knowledge of US Building Codes and ANSI/NSF standards.
Ability to provide a professional equipment schedule and floor plan.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Deliverables:
Detailed Floor Plan (CAD/PDF): Scaled layout showing all equipment.
Hood & Ventilation Plan: Technical drawings for the exhaust system.
Equipment Schedule: A keyed list corresponding to the layout.
