Head of Governance, Performance and Business Support

Job Description
Glasgow City Council is seeking an exceptional and talented individual to take on the role of Head of Governance, Performance and Business Support. Reporting directly to the Divisional Director of Finance and Transformation, the successful candidate will have a relevant business degree and/or extensive business experience coupled with a proven track record of leading governance and performance management across a complex, diverse and large‑scale operational service.
Responsibilities
* Lead a passionate pursuit of service improvement underpinned by effective governance and performance frameworks, encouraging stakeholders to work effectively together and find new solutions to deliver and develop services.
* Be at the forefront of supporting the transformation agenda across Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability (NRS) within a multi‑disciplined operational service of over 3,000 employees.
* Provide leadership and ensure alignment, integration and prioritisation of project implementations while maintaining business continuity through effective management of governance, risk, health and safety and performance.
* Implement data solutions to enable managers to deliver evidence‑based decision making that improves efficiency.
Qualifications
* Relevant business degree or extensive business experience.
* Proven track record of leading governance and performance management in a large, complex operational environment.
* Strong communication skills and ability to influence across senior leadership.
* Experience in service delivery similar to refuse collection, parks, roads, transport, parking, planning and property services is an advantage.
