Do you enjoy working with people with learning disabilities but also enjoy being outdoors and taking on practical tasks?
We are looking for a support worker to join us at our site Cherry Lodge which is a countryside, animal and nature facility, supporting a range of individuals with autism, learning and physical disabilities. When accessing the site the clients take part in a range of tasks to help run the facility, such as animal care, gardening and manual tasks.
You will need to be adaptable and ready to work both indoors and outdoors, supporting with classroom and outdoor activities.
Our aim is to get the very best out of our clients by supporting them to achieve anything they would like to achieve, helping to build their confidence and set goals.

Main duties
* Provide a person-centred approach and adapt to each client and their needs.
* Communicate effectively.
* Offer emotional and behavioural support.
* Following procedure regarding any safeguarding concerns or incidents.
* Support clients in groups as well as offering 1-1 support.
* Maintain clients existing skills and support in developing new ones.
* Encourage clients to participate and engage in daily activities.
* Support clients out in the community and on day trips.
* Give guidance to the clients as well as promoting independence.
* Assist and encourage the management of medication or administer where necessary and appropriate.
* Assist and provide support with personal care such as toileting.
* Ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of clients at all times.
* Take part in all daily activities, being creative and innovative.
* Support the team in maintaining the site.
* Work as part of a team and support your colleagues.

Requirements
* Previous experience working with learning disabilities (essential)
* Relevant NVQ or training. (desirable)
* Makaton (desirable)
* Attend training and be willing to continue learning and developing skills
* Enhanced DBS check
* Full UK driving license and use of your own car
* Two Referees for us to speak with
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 18 – 40 per week
