Associate Planner – West Midlands
Salary: £45,000–£60,000 + benefits + bonus

We’re recruiting on behalf of a respected consultancy in the West Midlands that’s looking to appoint an ambitious Associate Planner to strengthen its growing planning team. This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned planner ready to step into a more influential role with genuine autonomy and career progression.
The Role:
As the Associate Planner, you’ll play a key part in leading projects, managing client relationships, and guiding junior team members. You’ll be involved in a diverse mix of residential, commercial, strategic land, and regeneration schemes across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leading and coordinating complex planning applications and appeals
2. Delivering strategic planning advice to clients across multiple sectors
3. Managing project teams and mentoring junior planners
4. Preparing and presenting high-quality reports, statements, and evidence
5. Supporting business development and helping to grow the regional client base
What We’re Looking For:
6. MRTPI chartered with several years’ experience in consultancy or local authority
7. Proven track record delivering major or complex applications
8. Strong client-facing skills and the ability to build lasting relationships
9. Confident, commercially aware, and able to manage multiple projects independently
10. Excellent knowledge of national and local planning policy
