Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home health environments. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. A strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including those with developmental disabilities and memory care needs, is crucial.
Responsibilities
* Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
* Provide personal care while maintaining the dignity and respect of each individual.
* Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes in condition to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
* Support clients in maintaining their independence by encouraging participation in daily activities.
* Ensure a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and adhering to hygiene standards.
* Assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals.
* Implement care plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences.
* Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversations or activities.
* Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Skills
* First aid and CPR certification preferred.
* Experience in group homes or assisted living facilities is highly desirable.
* Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in health status or behavior.
* Experience with home & community care, hospice care, or long-term care settings is beneficial.
* Ability to assist individuals with developmental disabilities, including those with autism or Alzheimer's disease.
* Proficient in using equipment such as Hoyer lifts for mobility assistance when necessary.
* Knowledge of caregiving practices, including meal preparation and cleaning duties related to patient care.
* Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and vital sign assessment is an asset.

Pay: From £12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 22 – 44 per week
