Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: Rugby (On-site at a state-of-the-art automated logistics facility)
Salary: £58,000 per annum
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (rotating days and nights)
Are you an experienced maintenance professional with expertise in automated sortation and conveyor systems? We're seeking a dedicated Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our client’s team at a high-performance automated logistics site in Daventry.
In this critical role, you'll play a key part in maintaining peak operational reliability for our advanced sorting and handling systems. Your primary focus will be to prevent any customer-impacting downtime caused by equipment issues, ensuring seamless 24/7 operations.
Key Responsibilities - Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
* Conduct in-depth systems analysis across Siemens S7 PLCs, Profibus, ASi-Bus, EtherCat networks, and perform detailed log analysis on sorter controllers.
* Carry out a wide range of electrical and mechanical maintenance activities, including proactive and reactive troubleshooting to resolve issues efficiently.
* Complete all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks on time and to the highest standards.
* Identify recurring or problematic faults, implement effective fixes, and continuously monitor system performance for sustained improvements.
* Handle PLC backup and restoration procedures.
* Produce clear, detailed technical reports to communicate findings and actions.
* Track sorter performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives in response to customer requirements.
* Collaborate closely with on-site BEUMER Group Customer Support team members.
* Assist with project delivery and facility management activities as required.
* Provide general support to customers and site operations.
Essential Qualifications & Experience - Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
* NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Engineering, HNC/HND/ONC in Engineering (or equivalent).
* Siemens Step 7
* Proven experience performing sorter health checks.
* Solid understanding of sortation and conveyor technologies, such as LS3000 CB/TT, LS4000 CB/TT, BG Sorters, or Line Sorters.
* Knowledge of Emergency Stop Systems and Safety Supervision Systems
