The Accounts Supervisor Role
In this role, you will take responsibility for managing a small portfolio of SME clients while supporting the wider team. Key duties include:
* Managing a portfolio of SME businesses and maintaining regular client contact
* Delivering a proactive, client‑centred service
* Training and supervising students within the team
* Reviewing work prepared by colleagues and providing constructive feedback
* Preparing Limited Company, LLP, partnership and sole trader accounts
* Preparing management accounts
* Drafting personal and corporation tax computations
* Supporting assistant managers with ad‑hoc client tasks
* Keeping technical knowledge up to date across accounting standards and tax
* Communicating with clients and HMRC both verbally and in writing

About You
You will bring:
* Nearly or newly qualified status (ACCA, ICAS, ICAEW)
* At least 3 years’ experience within a UK practice environment
* Strong experience preparing sole trader, FRS102 and FRS102 1A accounts
* A commitment to delivering first‑class service
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
* Strong IT skills and the ability to retain and apply technical knowledge
* Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
