Mechanical Engineer

We’re partnering with a globally respected engineering organisation delivering large-scale, heavy-duty mechanical systems into highly demanding industrial environments.
This will suit an engineer who thrives on real-world engineering, with exposure to fabrication, structural steel, and heavy mechanical assemblies and enjoys seeing designs move from concept through to build, test, and deployment. The role also has an element of project engineering.
The Role
* Develop designs from concept through to manufacturing-ready detail, with a strong focus on Fabrication, Welded structures, Structural steel and large assemblies
* Produce 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings, including tolerances and full BOMs
* Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles across fabricated and machined components
* Work closely with production and workshop teams on build, assembly, and integration
* Support prototype development, testing, and commissioning
* Contribute to design reviews, problem-solving, and continuous improvement
* Collaborate across engineering, projects, and commercial teams
About You
* Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
* Ideally experience in heavy fabrication, welded structures, or capital equipment
* Proficient in 3D CAD (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo or similar)
* Good understanding of, Manufacturing processes (fabrication, machining, assembly) GD&T / tolerances Engineering drawings and documentation
* Ideally some exposure to hydraulics, mobile machinery, or off-highway equipment is a bonus
* Comfortable being involved from design through to build and testing
