Our client – a well-established building services contractor with over 40 years of success – is expanding their team and looking for a talented Mechanical Estimator to support their continued growth. You will be required to travel to sites in London.
🔧 Key Skills Required:
Strong mechanical engineering background with understanding of wider M&E disciplines
Excellent communication skills across all levels (internal and external)
High-level organisational and time management abilities
Energetic, proactive, and self-motivated
Demonstrated ability to estimate and secure projects up to £5M
Minimum 5 years' experience in HVAC-led project environments
Confident working both independently and within a team setting📋 Core Responsibilities:
Apply the company’s Bid/No Bid protocols rigorously, escalating where necessary
Review and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and site information to produce accurate estimates
Prioritise and manage multiple deadlines efficiently
Identify and assess operational and commercial risks prior to bid submission
Use Ametch to prepare clear, modular estimates covering labour, materials, specialists, and time – delivering compliant scopes and margin targets
Develop value engineering and alternative bid proposals where appropriate
Strengthen the subcontractor and supplier network by sourcing and introducing new, skilled options
Improve and structure the internal costing database to suit varying work types and sizes
Complete all elements of the Project Handover and Mobilisation Checklist for successful bids
Flag any variation opportunities or risk items to the delivery team during project handover
Attend client meetings, tender interviews, and presentations as required
Support compliance with all Health & Safety requirements and initiatives💼 What’s on Offer:
