Responsibilities
* The Senior Clinical Lead Nurse provides specialist knowledge and experience working with people with learning disabilities, mental health, and behaviours that challenge. The role provides clinical leadership to the Learning Disability Najurally Centre assessment and treatment unit (ATU), offering expertise on shift regarding clinical risk and mental health assessment, formulation, care planning for people requiring admission to the Najurally Centre.
* Fosters collaboration and effective teamwork to deliver optimal patient care. Builds positive relationships and open communication with other healthcare providers to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration.
* Actively contributes to care conferences, case discussions, and interdisciplinary meetings, sharing insights for a holistic approach to patient care, working on shift with members of the Multi-disciplinary team.
* Develops and applies flexible and innovative practice approaches appropriate to the needs of the client group, aligned with Trust goals and the wider integrated care system (ICS).
* Provides direct clinical care and acts as a role model for exemplary nursing practice in the Najurally Centre and across the wider ICS.
* On shift (in and out of hours) collaborates with the ward manager and ANPs to manage risk, safeguarding, patient safety, and staff well-being.
* Be a member of the learning disability locality collective leadership team and responsible for delivering safe and effective nursing practice across inpatient pathways. Develops standard operating procedures and communicates these policies within the team.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Experience providing specialist clinical leadership for people with learning disabilities and complex mental health needs.
* Ability to work collaboratively with the Multi-disciplinary team and external healthcare providers.
* Experience in risk management, safeguarding, and patient safety in an inpatient setting.
* Ability to develop and implement standard operating procedures and policies for nursing practice.
