Salaried GP: The Grange Surgery, Birkdale (Southport)

The Practice
The Grange Surgery is a well established GP practice serving approximately 9,500 patients in Birkdale, Southport.
We are a stable partnership with a strong team made up of:
* 3 GP partners
* 2 Practice Nurses, 1 HCA and 1 Phlebotomist
* 3 GP Assistants
* Practice Manager and Operations Manager
* 14 strong nonclinical team including secretaries, prescriptions team, reception/care navigators and administrators
We are a training practice, part of Southport and Formby PCN and Southport and Formby Health (GP Federation), with strong clinical and back office support from both.
The surgery is based in Birkdale, a five minute walk from the train station and local amenities, and a short drive from Southport beach.
Main duties of the job
This is a permanent salaried GP role within an established, well-supported clinical team.
You will work to an agreed job plan, reviewed at least annually and adjusted by mutual agreement. Day‑to‑day work is structured and predictable, with clear expectations around clinical sessions, admin and shared responsibilities.
Your working week comprises of the following:
* Surgery time
* Home visits
* Late call cover
* Signing of prescriptions
* Prescription reviews, queries and messages
* Administration of patient referrals
* Ensuring pathology links are dealt with
* Attending to work flowed documents
* E‑mails
* PATCHS (e‑consultations) and telephone enquiries are also areas that need to be incorporated into the working week
Administrative cover for holidays and sickness (prescriptions, results, Docman and queries) is shared across the GP team rather than falling on individual clinicians.

Qualifications
* Qualified GP
* Full GMC registration
* Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
