This ambitious trial will recruit up to 8,000 patients over five years across 25 sites in 10 dengue-endemic countries, including Peru, Colombia, Brazil, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand, Nepal and Vietnam. The trial’s central aim is to identify safe, effective and affordable treatments that can prevent disease progression and improve outcomes, while reducing the burden on health systems in affected regions. In this role, you will contribute to the development of the study protocol and regulatory submissions, support trial implementation, and oversee the management and analysis of trial data. You will provide clinical expertise across the programme, helping to ensure high standards of research design, patient safety and ethical practice. You will also play an active role in disseminating findings through publications and conference presentations, and contribute to departmental academic activities including teaching and mentoring. The post will involve international travel to study sites and close collaboration with teams in low- and middle-income countries. To be successful in this role, you will need to be GMC registered, with inclusion on the Specialist Register or equivalent, and hold a PhD/DPhil in infectious diseases together with MRCP or a comparable qualification. Strong clinical credentials and significant experience of dengue research are essential, along with prior involvement as an investigator or co-investigator in clinical trials. You will need a sound understanding of research ethics, governance and Good Clinical Practice, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in challenging environments. Experience of working in low- and middle-income settings, familiarity with the financial and legal aspects of collaborative research, international organisational experience, or additional language skills would be an advantage. Applications for this vacancy should be made online and you will need to upload a supporting statement and CV. Your supporting statement must explain how you meet each of the selection criteria for the post using examples of your skills and experience. Please restrict your documentation to your CV and supporting statement only. Any other documents will be requested at a later date.
