Overview

Join the NHS Business Services Authority as a Degree Apprentice in Digital, Data and Technology. Based in Newcastle upon-Tyne, you\'ll gain hands-on experience in agile digital service delivery, cloud technologies, and system development while working towards a Degree Apprenticeship in Digital Technology Solutions (Software Engineering pathway). You\'ll support critical systems, contribute to innovative projects, and develop both technical and business skills in a collaborative environment. Applicants must be eligible and committed to completing the degree apprenticeship program. Eligibility Criteria

* You must not currently be in full-time education or hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level in a similar subject.
* You must have the right to work in the UK and have lived in the UK/EU for at least three years, currently residing in England (as per government guidelines).

Main duties of the job

As a Degree Apprentice in Digital, Data and Technology, you\'ll join a dynamic team that designs, develops, and supports digital systems across the NHSBSA. You\'ll be involved in meaningful projects that help deliver and enhance digital services for internal operations and external users nationwide. You\'ll work alongside software developers, software testers, platform engineers, and agile delivery teams to gain hands-on experience in a wide range of technical areas. Your day-to-day work may involve developing new software, testing digital solutions, and analysing technical issues. You\'ll study towards a Degree Apprenticeship in Digital Technology Solutions (Software Engineering pathway) with support from mentors and colleagues.

Job responsibilities

* Analyse, interpret and report information and knowledge of technical subjects and concepts to influence decisions.
* Manage degree course workload and studies.
* Coordinate efforts with colleagues and communicate to achieve a high standard across all aspects of the role.
* Apply appropriate methods and procedures for the development and testing of systems.
* Design, develop, enhance and test ICT systems in accordance with ICT standards and customer requirements.
* Monitor and support the running of services; use incident, problem, request and change management processes.
* Analyse and resolve business and technical problems and identify effective solutions.
* Be proactive in developing skills and seeking development opportunities.
* Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Carry out research and development to support future business needs.
* Assist other team members and cross-team collaboration where applicable.
* Plan own work activities to achieve objectives and escalate issues as needed.
* Adhere to data protection and security policies.
* Participate in Quality Assurance and contribute to continuous improvement.
* Apply quality and environmental policies to support best practice.
* Monitor health, safety and security according to Authority policies.
* Support equality, diversity and rights in all actions.
* Engage in partnership work with other individuals, groups and agencies.
* Maintain knowledge of market trends and emerging technologies relevant to ICT.
