The role – Project Quantity Surveyor
As a Project Quantity you will be working on a large £12m industrial unit in Manchester and will be reporting into the Senior Quantity Surveyor & Commercial Manager overseeing the project and will be handling the following duties:
* Preparation of bills and/or schedules for quantities of materials, labour and services required in the construction and refurbishment of building works.
* Preparation and valuation of progress and submission to client.
* Sub-contract procurement including sending out enquiries, collating prices, negotiation, order placement.
* Sub-contract valuations and payments in connection with any contract.
* Preparation of internal cost reporting measures.
* Advice when required on cost management, or value management.
* Maintaining quality control procedures.
* Undertaking all tasks in a timely fashion and as required by management.
* Ensure cash flow is maximized.
Required skills and knowledge?
* A degree/equivalent qualification (HNC/HND).
* At least 5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying position.
* Have a strong Main Contractor background.
* Industrial experience is preferable.
