Are you energetic, resilient, and passionate about making a positive impact in young people's lives? We're seeking a sporty and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a thriving primary school. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with pupils who require additional support, helping them engage with education through structure, activity, and positive relationships.
* Supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs in both classroom and outdoor settings.
* Assisting teachers with lesson delivery, particularly in sports and physical education activities.
* Promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
* Acting as a positive role model to pupils aged 8-16 with a range of complex behavioural challenges.
The school is a typical primary school with a specialist resource base catering for a range of needs (ALN to behaviour). With small class sizes and a highly supportive staff team, the school focuses on building trust, promoting engagement, and supporting pupils to achieve academically and personally. Many students thrive through physical activity, making a sports coach an ideal fit for this role. Many sports coaches in the past have been successful as teaching assistants, and the headteacher has invested heavily in their training.
* Background in sports, coaching, or active youth work.
* Experience working with children or young people, especially in behaviour support roles.
* Strong communication, resilience, and a team-player attitude.
* Calm under pressure, patient, and able to build strong, respectful relationships with pupils.
As the UK's leading education recruitment agency, Teaching Personnel offers unrivalled support, flexible working arrangements, and access to a wide range of roles across Wales and the UK. Benefits include:
* Weekly pay through our PAYE system.
* Ongoing training and CPD opportunities.
* A dedicated consultant to support your career development.
* Opportunities for permanent roles within our partner schools.
The school aims to appoint within the next 2 weeks. Interviews will be held as soon as possible! The headteacher has asked the successful candidate to visit the school to facilitate a smooth transition into the role.
