Overview
The University of Sheffield seeks a University Teacher to deliver the BSc Speech and Language Therapy Degree Apprenticeship programme and other campus‑based SLT programmes within the School of Allied Health Professions, Pharmacy, Nursing and Midwifery.
Responsibilities
* Design, deliver and coordinate high‑quality teaching, assessment, feedback and student support for BSc SLT apprentices and other campus‑based SLT programmes.
* Support tutees and clinical mentors through the tripartite review process.
* Support and contribute to the teaching team and ensure consistently high quality teaching, learning and student support.
* Contribute to the development of programme modules that are accessible, inclusive and support the University's Teaching and Learning Strategy.
* Develop and implement ideas for improving own teaching design, delivery and assessment.
* Play a key role in recruitment activities such as admissions open days, talks and interviews.
* Develop a portfolio of scholarly activity.
* Actively contribute to the collective vision, mission and values of the University through inclusive, collaborative working.
* Consistently take responsibility for outcomes, provide support to others and make inclusive decisions that positively impact the School.
* Challenge established practice, structure and process to bring about positive change and improved outcomes.
* Participate in and develop links with external stakeholders and contacts at national and regional levels.
* Make ethical decisions and embed the University sustainability strategy into day‑to‑day work where possible.
* Plan and prioritise daily teaching and administrative tasks and contribute to longer‑term planning through policy development.
* Contribute to the academic life of the School of Allied Health Professions, Pharmacy, Nursing and Midwifery.
* Carry out other duties commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.
Essential requirements
* Internationally recognised qualification in speech and language therapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* MSc or equivalent level of clinical experience in a relevant subject area.
* Relevant experience teaching pre‑registration speech and language therapy students.
* Commitment to design and deliver high‑quality teaching programmes that ensure effective learning.
* Experience working collaboratively and independently with a high degree of personal effectiveness.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to make accountable, creative and considered decisions.
* Experience fostering effective relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
* Proficiency in using a range of digital technologies for teaching and communication (e.g. VLEs, presentation tools, online collaboration platforms).
* Commitment to continuing professional development.
Desirable requirements
* Knowledge or experience delivering learning on apprenticeship programmes, including online delivery.
* Expertise in paediatrics/children/young people within speech and language therapy.

Grade: 8
Salary: £48,822 – £58,225
Work arrangement: Part‑time 60 %
