Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Blaster to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience working with various tools and fabrication techniques. This role involves safely handling blasting operations, supporting construction and manufacturing projects, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in warehouse, construction painting, assembly, welding, or related fields to develop their skills within a dynamic environment.
Duties
* Prepare surfaces and materials for blasting by cleaning and masking as necessary
* Operate blasting equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with safety protocols
* Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to support fabrication and assembly tasks
* Assist with the setup and breakdown of blasting operations, ensuring all safety measures are followed
* Conduct basic measurements and calculations using fundamental maths skills to ensure proper application of materials
* Support warehouse activities including material handling, storage, and inventory management
* Collaborate with team members on construction painting projects and other related tasks
* Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety standards at all times
Qualifications
* Proven experience with mechanical systems, fabrication, welding, or assembly work preferred
* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
* Basic understanding of maths applicable to measurement and calculations in construction or manufacturing settings
* Previous warehouse or construction painting experience is advantageous
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow safety procedures diligently
* Good physical condition with the ability to work in demanding environments for extended periods
* Relevant certifications or training in welding or industrial safety are a plus
