Intelligence manager

Offer description

The Role We are looking for an individual to support the intelligence team and the role that they play within the wider business of Clyde & Co. The Intelligence Manager oversees the day‑to‑day operational leadership of the Fraud Intelligence function, ensuring work is delivered consistently, to a high standard, and in line with agreed priorities and regulatory obligations. Acting as the central point of control across workflow, quality, and resourcing, the role ensures that intelligence activity is coordinated, defensible, and joined‑up, particularly across complex and organised fraud investigations. The Intelligence Manager provides operational stability and oversight, enabling intelligence to build over time rather than existing as isolated outputs. Key Responsibilities • Manage the end-to-end instruction process - from receipt and acknowledgement through allocation, quality review, and delivery • Allocate work across the team based on capacity, capability, and requirements • Act as the primary escalation point for operational issues, delays, or resourcing conflicts • Lead and coordinate complex organised fraud intelligence investigations, managing multi-file operations that involve linked matters, common actors, and shared modus operandi. This includes overseeing the development of intelligence packages across operations, ensuring continuity and progression of live investigations, coordinating with the wider team on ringfencing and similar fact evidence, and liaising with industry bodies and external partners where intelligence sharing is required. • The Intelligence Manager will maintain the operation register, track the status of active investigations, and ensure that intelligence builds over time rather than being treated as isolated pieces of work. • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all core intelligence workflows • Implement and oversee the quality assurance framework, including peer review and output benchmarking • Ensure team compliance with GDPR, data processing, and other regulatory requirements • Support intelligence analysts, providing regular supervision, feedback, and one-to-one advice • Deliver and coordinate training across the team, building capability in line with the skills matrix • Support structured development plans for each analyst, tracking progression against defined levels • Foster a culture of analytical judgement, professional standards, and continuous improvement • Own the team’s MI reporting - instruction volumes, turnaround times, utilisation, charge rates, and demand trends • Report regularly to the Head of Fraud Intelligence on operational performance and emerging issues Requirements • Demonstrable experience managing or supervising an intelligence or investigations team • Strong understanding of desktop intelligence methodologies, open-source research, and data analysis • Experience developing SOPs, training materials, and quality frameworks • Ability to manage competing priorities and allocate work effectively across a team • Understanding of GDPR, data protection, and compliance obligations in an intelligence context • Excellent communication skills - able to engage with analysts, lawyers, and senior stakeholders • Proficient using i2 software • Track record of hitting billing targets • Good understanding of legal principles and personal injury claims. • Fully conversant in the use of IT systems including MS Office skills and online resources. • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of operational delivery • Experience in insurance fraud intelligence or a related legal/financial services environment • Experience with Analyst Notebook or comparable intelligence platforms • Experience with organised fraud investigations or multi-file intelligence operations What We Offer We are always looking to recognise and reward our people for the work they do.
