We have an exciting opportunity for a Communications & Marketing Officer to join our Visitor Experience team at Ightham Mote.
You’ll use your creativity and excellent communication skills to promote and inspire support for this special place, our programme of events and activities, and our conservation work, both internally and externally.
You’ll be an integral part of the property team liaising closely with staff and volunteers, stakeholders and our community partners to manage and create engaging website content, on-site materials, and manage social media accounts.
As part of delivering experiences and programming you will input into creation of experiences and support the team in the running of events.

As Communications & Marketing Officer, you’ll play a pivotal role in the Visitor Experience team who are focused on making sure each visitor has an enjoyable and memorable visit.This ethos is reflected in our visitor satisfaction scores which are consistently high and currently above 90%.

What you'll be doing
AsCommunications & Marketing Officer, you will be responsible for the holistic planning and delivery of communications and marketing activity for the Ightham Mote and North Kent portfolio using internal and third-party marketing channels.
Led by the Experience and Visitor Programming Manager, you’ll work closely with property teams to help plan, deliver and promote an exciting and engaging year-round programme that inspires existing members, recruits new members and drives repeat visits to Ightham Mote.
In addition to providing this support you will assist in the evaluation of the programme to help inform and develop future programming and visitor experience.
Using your communication and creative skills, you will be key in our efforts to make Ightham Mote a wonderful place to work in and visit.Embracing one of our key values – everyone’s welcome – you'll play your part in enabling wider access to the Trust for all members of society.

* Good practical experience in marketing, interpretation, programming and/or event delivery ideally in a tourist, heritage, art or theatre environment
* A creative and dynamic approach with the ability to work on your own initiative
* A good team player with confidence and people skills. Naturally interested in and curious about people, places and nature, and a good storyteller
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise projects, meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced, operational, visitor experience environment
* A willingness and ability to collaborate on all aspects of event delivery, occasionally working on weekend and evening events
* High presentation standards with an eye for detail and accuracy in all communications
* Experience of day-to-day budget management
* Confidence using all applications of Microsoft Office software and the Adobe Creative Suite such as Photoshop and InDesign to produce marketing materials
